The sculptures and installations by Tobias Hoffknecht are mostly made for a specific place – just like the entitled exhibition „Bein“ has been made especially for Galerie Crone in Berlin. His sculptures do not have a pedestal, but they define precisely the room between the object, viewer and place. His works are made up of steel, wood and plastic and play with the traditions of the Bauhaus and Minimal Art. Thereby, the objects appear reduced, but they do develope their poetics on closer inspection. This poetics is formed by the material itself and the transformation of learned forming language in new contexts.
