Come and learn about the intricacies of terrarium eco-systems while creating your own miniature garden to take away and nurture.

About

Join London Terrariums for an afternoon of making your own Tiny John Terrarium. You will learn all about terrariums, from how these self-contained ecosystems survive so well on their own to how to look after them, through to the steps in constructing your own.

We will start with a short introduction explaining the history and science that goes into building a terrarium, from the different plants you can use to why activated charcoal has become an essential for us. Then it is up to you to get your hands in there and build your own! By the end of the session you will have your own miniature garden to take away, which you'll be able to witness developing over the coming months and years.

London Terrariums in run by Emma Sibley. She made her first terrarium using stones from driveways, moss from the garage roof, cuttings from house plants and hand-made tools from wine corks and garden sticks. From making terrariums for friends and family, the business grew quickly and the London Terrariums shop opened in 2017, where you can buy ready-made terrariums, kits or attend workshops. Emma is a member of the British Cactus and Succulent Society.

This event is organised by Yodomo Ltd for the Future of Craft event at The Bargehouse, London as part of London Craft Week 2019.
