The first public exhibition of artist Tim Shaw RA in Northern Ireland, showcasing a major new installation-based work.
About
Opening Friday 30th October, the F.E. McWilliam Gallery presents Tim Shaw's first major public exhibition in Northern Ireland, entitled 'Mother, the Air is Blue, the Air is Dangerous.'
This exhibition presents McWilliam's 'Women in a Bomb Blast' alongside Shaw's dramatic sculptures, 'Man on Fire' and 'Tank on Fire'. The centrepiece of the exhibition is the major immersive installation 'Mother, The Air is Blue, the Air is Dangerous', which draws on Shaw's childhood memories of being caught up in bombings and security alerts in Belfast during The Troubles.
The installation was originally produced at Kappatos Athens Art Residency, Kappatos Gallery in November 2014. This exhibition at the F.E. McWilliam Gallery will be the first time that the installation will be shown in Ireland or the UK.
The exhibition continues until 30th January 2016. For further information on the exhibition or the Gallery please contact T: +44 28 4062 3322 or visit http://www.femcwilliam.com/
