Through the Looking Glass is an exhibition inspired by its very particular site, The World of Glass, and by St Helen’s history as a centre of glass making. The exhibition plays with the idea of glass as an agent of refraction and reflection
About
The exhibition question the way we see our taken-for-granted reality, offering openings into other worlds or disturbing distortions: referencing myths, dreams and fairy tales, blurring object and image, substance and illusion, questioning the very relationship between past, present and future. The artists invite the visitor to contemplate fragmented time, fractured mirrors, multiple worlds peopled by unlikely characters, and to reflect on the strange and disturbing future that climate change would present to us.
