“What is art but a way of seeing?”
Thomas Berger
When we look at a painting, it can make us feel alive in ways we never imagined. For a moment we see the world through the eyes of the artist. It shifts our perspective and can make us re-evaluate our own outlook and ideas.
About
Artists are intent observers of the world. They notice things that others may miss, subtle nuances of colour and shape, how light falls in shadows across the path. They focus their attention on the feelings that are evoked. The artist’s work is to express how they see the world in visual form using colour, shape, line and form.
This exciting exhibition offers the viewer three ways of seeing, and feeling. Three contemporary artists from Norfolk and Suffolk - Gabriella Buckingham, Klair Bauly and Antonia Clare - share their interpretations of still life and landscape of through the use of collage and paint. Some of the works are vibrant, bold and expressive, while others are more reflective and calm. They all offer the viewer a glimpse into the artist’s view of the world.
This is a wonderful opportunity to meet three exceptional local artists and discuss their paintings with them in detail. You will be able to find out more about each artist and their creative lives, and discover the different approaches to their work and their respective influences.
We look forward to seeing you there.
