A group exhibition by acclaimed abstract artists Brian Reinker, Laurence Causse-Parsley and Alan Oliver, in one of London's most beautiful venues.
About
Brian Reinker balances colour theory with an unmistakable personal vision in his work. His definitive use of colour echoes his studied approach to art and his exactitude in construction. His works organise our visual world by indexing individual elements with a disciplined approach to execution. Embracing repetition, juxtaposition and shifting perspectives, Reinker’s practice probes our understanding of visual representation
Shuttling between countries and cultures, Laurence Causse-Parsley gives herself the freedom to select materials from changing contexts. The result is a very distinctive style built on a skilled use of mixed media, layering techniques and a bold exploration of colour inherited from her Mediterranean childhood. Very often she approaches the canvas from all sides, painting in a very energetic way and seeking the unexpected.
Alan Oliver is a weaver, textile artist and print maker, specialising in the production of handwoven rugs and wall-hangings, as well as works on paper. Influenced by his environment and the sense of identity and movement that is inherent within traditionally crafted textiles, his choice of materials is also of relevance, with local resources turned into pigments and dyes, whilst other materials from further afield assert their own narrative into his work.
