Introducing #ThisFanGirl, an unfolding photographic project that celebrates the many faces of the female football fan.
About
This End of Season Exhibition will showcase portraits and stories of female fans from all corners of the UK.
The passion project of Amy & Laura, #ThisFanGirl is a visual documentary of the real women who support football. The aim was to challenge the stereotype of the female fan portrayed in the media and celebrate the women they see at every match; supporting their teams come rain or shine.
They spent the 2016/17 season travelling over 1,200 miles, visiting every club in the Premier League to capture the incredible passion and diversity of the female football fan. Since the project began last August, they’ve gained the praise of UK and international news publications, such as Stylist, I magazine, BBC Pictures and Huck magazine, and we’re invited onto BBC Women’s Hour to discuss the project.
