About

This panel discussion takes a wide celebratory and critical view of Brutalism, redefining and expanding the term ‘Brutal’ to include buildings usually considered outside the movement.

The event marks the publication of This Brutal World, a global survey of Brutalist architecture from the beginning of the 20th century to the present day and the touring of the RIBA installation 'The Brutalist Playground' by Assemble and Simon Terrill.

A panel discussion chaired by Virginia McLeod (Commissioning Editor at Phaidon) with Peter Chadwick (author, This Brutal World), Jane Hall (Assemble), Tom Cordell (director, Utopia London) + more speakers tbc

For this special event we have partnered with Phaidon and RIBA Bookshop to offer you this complementary talk when you purchase This Brutal World.

This event is part of the exhibition 'At Home in Britain: Designing the House of Tomorrow'.
