Curator Talk and Screening on post-war German artist Werner Schreib, with Aftershock curator Rozemin Keshvani.
About
Werner Schreib was an important rising star in the post-war German art scene.
He is best known to London audiences for his participation in the 1966 Destruction in Arts Symposium where he created several notorious pyrotechnic performances condemning the Allied involvement in the Vietnam War. His practice was outward-looking, collaborative and prolific, spanning painting, printmaking, performance, poetry and public sculpture, but his contributions were prematurely cut short when he sadly died in a fatal collision with a lorry on the autobahn at the age of 44.
Laure Genillard invites you to a film screening and discussion with the curator
on the controversial life and practice of Werner Schreib to coincide with Frieze London 2016 West End Night.
Please join us for a late night viewing and drink at the gallery afterwards until 9pm.
