A film by Rebecca Birch A clock by Johan Ten Hoeve Johan Ten Hoeve, a second generation Dutch clock maker spends eighteen months of his studies at West Dean College, Sussex making his masterwork, a replica of the 1676 Thomas Tompion year-going clock for the Royal Observatory, Greenwich. Rebecca Birch, whilst in residence at West Dean College spends an extended period of time watching the process. The resulting film, The Year-Going is a compression of this close observation. The Year-Going includes original sound mixes by Neil Luck.
