The third creative strand for this triple whammy project, The Window to My Soul (book, album, art) showing pieces that have evolved out of the images and words in both the book and CD.
About
This is my first visual art exhibition and is the third creative strand of my triple whammy project, The Window to My Soul (book, album, art) showing pieces that have evolved out of the images and words in both the book and CD. Experimenting with many techniques I have developed pieces that share very personal stories, each piece linking directly to a passage in the book or a song on the album. All of the creative strands are at once interwoven but can each stand alone.
The exhibition as a whole (comprising approximately 30 pieces) will include photographic images that have been played with, put through filters, in some cases overlaid or combined and made far more elaborate than their original form. In some cases there are snippets of songs and poetry that remain simply as they originally appear or that have been developed into more visually stimulating and disruptive pieces subtly using a variety of techniques such as gilding, batik waxing, kintsugi, collage, photomontage and even actual perfume making this a true sensory experience!
