THE VILLAGE GREEN 18 AUGUST - 22 SEPTEMBER 2012 Renata Bandeira / Hector Castells Matutano / Coco Crampton / Alan Franklin / Laura Keeble / Jonathan Kipps / Nastassja Simensky / Jim Woodall The China Shop is pleased to present The Village Green, a group exhibition of artists exhibiting in The ARTISJUSTAWORD Village Green Biennale 2012, an outdoor sculpture park curated by ARTISJUSTAWORD. The Village Green and The ARTISJUSTAWORD Village Green Biennale 2012 are associated exhibitions bringing together emerging artists from around the country with multi-disciplinary practices. Held simultaneously, the exhibitions encourage the artists to consider their entire practice from site-specific outdoor video and sculpture work to drawing and photography to provide the audience a wider insight into each participating artists' practice. The contrasting venues question the way work is viewed and interpreted in response to its environment and material and reveals the manner in which different parts of an artists practice inform and interrogate each other. ARTISJUSTAWORD is an inclusive arts charity based in Oxford working with innovative artists to produce workshops and exhibitions that show works of art in environments that are interesting to both artists and a wider audience. Their single mission is to promote the idea that everyone is creative. The ARTISJUSTAWORD Village Green Biennale 2012 will be held over the August back holiday weekend on the Millennium Green, Stanton St John, Oxford.
