Two speakers from different career fields discuss The Value of Looking Back within the context of The First Humans exhibition.
About
Coinciding with The First Humans exhibition, this talk invites two speakers of differing occupations to discuss The Value of Looking Back. Continuing from a conversation that took place on the opening night of the exhibition the two guest speakers will pose questions to each other around the subject. The event will conclude with the opportunity for audience members to share their thoughts on the discussion and continue the dialogue with the guest speakers.
Jack Strange is a contemporary artist whose artworks What do you want more of? (2010) and That Thing Inside The Thing Outside of The Thing Inside of This Thing (2015) are featured in the The First Humans exhibition. Strange is represented by the gallery Limoncello, London where he will be exhibited in a solo show this year. He is also a lecturer at the Slade School of Art, London.
Helen Wickstead is a lecturer in Heritage at Kingston University, London. She has worked as an archaeologist in Britain, France, the Czech Republic and Turkey. Recent conferences and events she has been involved with include 'Room of the Disappeared: Excavation of the study, archives and collections of H.C.Bowen F.S.A' and 'Abstract and Concrete: Constructing Twentieth Century Prehistories'.
