The Unknown Hortus, is the first solo exhibition fine art photographer Eleanor Cunningham. This exhibition focuses on the traditional idealized views of nature in Britain through a series of vibrant manipulated photographs using alternative processes.

About

The Unknown Hortus is part of an ongoing study into the garden motif, exploring the symbolism of the English landscape; an idealized view of nature.

Influenced by fiction such as The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett and The Door in the Wall by H.G. Wells, this featured series recreates landscapes that seem to be almost completely distorted by the developing process, making the location almost unrecognizable, thus unreachable to us.
