A haunting evening celebrating all things uncanny.

About

Celebrating the opening of our winter exhibition,
The Uncanny: A Centenary.

Doppelgängers, objects coming to life, haunting spirits, and death will be taking over the Freud Museum. Over the course of the evening, we will see how Freud’s theory went on to inspire art, film and literature, and you can view the exhibition after hours too!

A schedule of talks and workshops, from horror films to literature to mannequins, will take place all evening. Exhibiting artist, Martha Todd, will create an installation during the evening of uncanny scarred body parts  - including yours!

Dress code: Smart, with your best mask; anything from Venetian masks to Guy Fawkes masks to gas masks are all suitable.

All ticket sales for The Uncanny Masked Ball help to run the Museum, its exhibitions and future development. The Ball has been sponsored by our dear friends at Sing Gin. Attendees will receive 2 tokens for complimentary glasses of gin & tonic upon arrival.
