The Tension of things unsaid is a moving image and sculpture installation that provides a forensic analysis of psychological tension. Following the recent worldwide phenomena of sexual harassment victims sharing their experiences publicly, I began to explore the tension between victim and perpetrator before a case became public. This tension and unease are examined through the lens of publicly available footage of the two people involved, and the inherent imbalance of power between them. The sculptural part using string, elastic and rock will focus on the power imbalance manifested in the victim’s decision not to voice the issue for fear of disturbing an equilibrium of interrelations. http://evglettashtohryn.com
