Solo presentation with new works by Celina Vleugels

About

Celina Vleugels (1996°)
graduated in 2019 with a master's degree in Painting and then specialized more into Textile Design. Her work can thus be situated between the worlds of Painting and Textiles.
Celina creates a world where there is no timeline. Layer upon layer she manages to build up an image where memory and imagination meet. She uses materials that are very labour-intensive: such as processing the wet felting process from scratch to obtain a full-fledged image, sewing fabrics together by hand, painting, hand embroidery in combination with dry felting.
The past, thoughtless childhood memories, loss, the future and the longing for something that does not exist merge into “one”.
