First UK solo retrospective by Stanley Chow
About
CFCCA is delighted to present the retrospective work of internationally renowned illustrator Stanley Chow.Their Gallery 2 space will be transformed by the memories of Chow's childhood, bringing together works from almost 20 years ago to the current day. As a Manchester born artist whose parents emigrated from Hong Kong in the 1960's, Stanley takes CFCCA on an immersive trip down memory lane, turning the street-facing window space into a Chinese takeaway shop front and inviting you into a full retrospective of the artist's illustrative life.
These 'takeaway memories' are simply just that: to celebrate the end of the exhibition, from 19-22 June CFCCA will be hosting a takeaway sale of all the artworks on display. Chow will create his own art menu for you to select your favourite framed dish; takeaway has never seemed so good for you!
Stanley Chow's work is all about his home, Manchester. Born in 1974 he grew up, studied and continues to live and work in Manchester to this date. As a local club DJ, Chow started designing and illustrating flyers and posters for the venues he played in and has never looked back. Chow now works internationally throughout design, editorial, advertising and fine art sectors and his illustrative designs are one of the most recognisable styles in today's design industry.
