The Sorrows of Laughing Anne

About

Penni Pierce / Frances Williams / Tony Foster Titled after a character from the 70‘s comic Mandy, this multi-media exhibition presents work which responds to contained situations of ambivalence and uncertainty, feeding off the resulting spillage. Featuring unexpected sculptural sound pieces, installation portraits of a fictional archivist/curator's personal breakdown and video work exploring the tensions of relationship ‘events'. As the eponymous Anne helplessly tries to control her hideous laugh by suppressing her real feelings, so the artists' creations play, suffer and disrupt the Basement's white space and it's dissimilar twin subterranean workshop. Friday 13 - Sunday 15 April 2012 12-4pm The Electrician's Basement Trinity Buoy Wharf London E14 OJY Private View Thursday 12 April 2012 6-9pm
