​The Rum Factory project space presents The Sky Was, an exhibition that brings together seven artists questioning an array of ideas, utilising the function of painting as an essential element that both represents the world and creates its own; where a grouping of exquisite moments of painting are brought together. In the painterly realm a conflict takes place concerning the abstract and the figurative, the romantic and the faux naïve. By merging fact and fiction, and deliberately emphasising the devices of their practice, fundamental questions about the nature of representation itself unfold.
