MARS presents “The Sand Threshold”, a group show curated by Fabio Carnaghi, Riccardo Lisi, Yimei Zhang.
The exhibition involves Italian, Chinese, Swiss artists in a critical reflection on the fragile threshold of circulation, exchange, sharing between global virality and free thought. The eight artists’ artworks document collapse of conventional cultural systems. The eight artists in “The Sand Threshold” exhibition are Lorenza Boisi (b. 1972 in Milan, Italy), Lucas Herzig (b. 1988 in Zürich,Switzerland), Jia Kun (b. 1988, China), Yari Miele (b. 1977 in Cantù, Italy), Gil Pellaton (b. 1982 in Biel/Bienne,Switzerland), Cassidy Toner (b. 1992 in Baltimore, United States, Switzerland based), Devis Venturelli (b. 1974 in Faenza, Italy), Yimei Zhang (b. 1990 in Guiyang, China).

Saturday September 12, 2020 during Art Night 2020, MARS presents a performances evening with three 90s born female artists, Ginevra Dolcemare (Milan, 1994), Chiara Ottavi (Mendrisio, 1995), Matilde Sambo (Venice, 1993). The artists were selected by the independent spaces involved in the project: Dolcemare invited by Fuzao (China), Ottavi by la rada (Switzerland), Sambo by MARS (Italy).
Free Admission*
The events are second stage of IMPORT-EXPORT project, promoted by la rada (Locarno), Fuzao (China), MARS (Milano) as part of ViaVai+ program supported by Ticino and Valis Cantons, Lombardy Region, Pro Helvetia, Swiss Foundation for Culture.
* During the opening of both events, due to social distancing, entry will be possible for viewing slots and for a limited number of visitors at a time.
