New exhibition ‘The Real Thing’ by Fashion Space Gallery will explore the intricacies and motivation behind bootleg culture in fashion and how it has become a tool for political and artistic expression.
About
Curated by writer Anastasiia Fedorova, the exhibition will showcase a range of works through imagery, social media and sculpture by artists who use re-interpretation and subversion of branding to interrogate views around social hierarchy, identity, queer culture and sustainability.
Featured artists and designers include Harlem couturier DapperDan, Sports Banger (famously known for their viral Free Tulisa t-shirts), HYPEPEACE, ‘brandalist’ Dr Noki (JJ Hudson), Romanian designer Ancuta Sarca and Citizens of Nowhere.
