A regular exhibitor with Artizan in our group and open shows, we are delighted to be welcoming leading contemporary artist, George Davis to the gallery for this one man show providing a rare opportunity to view a significant body of his work, with several pieces being shown for the first time.
About
This exhibition features a selection of paintings completed in the last two years, working in his studios in Devon and Southwest France. It constitutes an intriguing insight into his creative process before, during and after the period of lockdown, reflecting on the ability of art to raise the spirit through the artist’s perceptive eye.
‘Art can of course provide an escape into the realm of memory and imagination when pressures on our everyday freedoms are threatened. In the process of our coping with these it can also reveal ways of assimilating and understanding the journeys we have embarked upon; not just as artists, but as individuals, navigating the complexity of our personal experiences, relationships, and feelings. Art can help us to come to terms with who we are, what we value and where we are going.’
Join us for a glass of wine at our launch event on Friday 12th November 6 – 8 PM, a chance to meet the artist and view and hear more about the work before the exhibition officially opens.
