About
Opening on Thursday 12 May is a two room display of self-portraits collected by the writer Ruth Borchard (1910-2000). These will be exhibited alongside other paintings the artists created that are held in the Jerwood Collection.
There are a hundred British self-portraits in the Borchard Collection, the majority of which are from the 1950s and 60s. Capturing artistic influences from Camden Town, Expressionism, The Euston Road School and Kitchen Sink, this exhibition will include artists such as Maggi Hambling, Michael Ayrton, Euan Uglow, Alberto Morrocco, Keith Vaughan and Anne Redpath.
The exhibition is in association with Piano Nobile Gallery | Robert Travers.
