Sculpture! Drawing! Art! Nancy Allen has it all. Showing an all new series of works Nice Gallery is excited to present The (pink) Waffle, the standing things with the carpets - and maybe the one with the woggles in it.
Die-hard fans and owners of the NancyAllender-calendar will recognise some pieces like the pink waffle from her Open Studio at Nice Gallery in December- whilst getting the opportunity to engage with plenty of even newer work too.
Exploring contemporary surface and the relationship between flatness and spatiality, Allen's sculptures engage in a strange, still choreography of potential motion. Whilst static they are ostentatiously active, flamboyantly stretchy/supportive/droopy.
