About

Fast food, fast fashion; people and services at your door at the click of an app: are we, like
The Lotus Eaters of Homerian myth, lost in a world of consumption, victims to addictive highs?

Aindrea Contemporary launches its fourth and final exhibition of 2018, The Lotus Eaters, showcasing seven, early-career artists whose work responds to these ideas through painting, animation and installation.

The Lotus Eaters is a group exhibition, curated by Aindrea Emelife, exploring consumption, commodity, thrill and pleasure seeking using the tale of the Lotus Eaters in Homer's Odyssey, JG Ballard's High Rise and the Freudian Pleasure Principle as literary and philosophical curatorial access points.
