Apathy dictates what we do, as much as what we don’t do. It makes us angry as much as it makes us bored.
About
The exhibition in the gallery represents a response to these themes. The work is mostly letterpress printed by the Letterpress Collective, The Print Project and Nomad Letterpress. It alsoincludes work by local and international artists including Stanley Donwood, who along with Mat Kauhanen, has made a film called Broadmead: the movie, which will be launched at the festival. There will be several supporting music and talking events in the adjoining Chocolate Factory in Centrespace, including Beak, Chrononautz and Rick Holland. 19 May, Three Cane Whale. On 24 May, the writers Owen Hatherley, Emma Jackson and Dawn Foster will be talking about social housing, also in the Chocolate Factory. The letterpress print shop in Centrespace will be open during the festival.
