The aim of the talk and subsequent workshop will be to encourage students to use drawing as a way to look again at the human form in space, and help them find their own ways of describing this experience on a two dimensional surface. The talk will ask why this might be important, and look at the ways artists past and present have tackled the subject. David Colbey is an award winning portrait and figure painter who works from a studio in Bath, England. His portrait commissions include HRH The Princess Royal and President Assad of Syria.
