Director: Arnold Fanck, Germany (1926) Holy Mountain is the story of mountaineer friends Karl and Vigo who both fall for dancer Diotima (Leni Riefenstahl), leading to a love-triangle romance which plays out against a glorious Alpine landscape. Featuring death-defying climbing, avalanche-dodging, and frenetic downhill ski racing by expert skiers and climbers, rarely have the slopes of the Alps looked as exciting.
