A photography exhibition which celebrates the enduring legacy of Lancelot 'Capability' Brown
About
Weston Park’s landscape includes two of Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown’s pleasure grounds as well as a wide sweep of parkland that the eighteenth century landscape improver and visionary created. We are, therefore, delighted to welcome a photography exhibition which celebrates the enduring legacy of the man who is often hailed as England's greatest landscape gardener. Showcasing stunning photographic interpretations of Brown's iconic landscapes, the exhibition highlights his visionary approach to reshaping natural scenery into harmonious compositions of rolling hills, serpentine lakes, and sweeping vistas. Captured through the lenses of contemporary photographers, the images explore how Brown's 18th-century designs continue to inspire awe and admiration today. Visitors are invited to reflect on the interplay of light, texture, and perspective in these masterpieces of both nature and design, gaining a deeper appreciation for Brown’s transformative influence on Britain’s historic countryside and see how these landscapes are seen and visited today.
