THE FAIREST is a fresh initiative launched by Eleonora Sutter and Georgie Pope to support young, emerging, or independent artists and creators. We see an abundance of provocative, intelligent and curious talent, undermatched by exposure – THE FAIREST develops a new action for this. Artists, regardless of gallery representation or medium, typically without access to fairs, are featured in THE FAIREST. This action is to create a new fluidity, public platform and direct visibility in the art market.

Leading up to the annual main fair, THE FAIREST collaborates with different project spaces, hosting smaller scale teasers to introduce participating artists, who will collectively go on to be positioned in the main fair. The Co-founders value ongoing artistic support, both offline and online, which is unrestricted to their main event. They envisage a variety of exchanges and formats taking place.

Teaser01 is the very first edition of THE FAIREST, reflecting both an organic and very specific selection of artists who set the tone. Eleonora and Georgie plan a new teaser show every two months. Artworks at THE FAIREST will be presented in a curatorial context, rejecting separate booths, to rather maintain meaning and relevance in a cohesive exhibition. ⁠

Founded in Berlin, THE FAIREST aims to be thoughtful about shipping practices. This has resulted in Brussels collective Apparatus 22 wetransferring an audio work, Jonas Wendelin printing his new LA River series locally, upon current travels to the EU, and performance collaborators Mikołaj Sobczak (Warsaw) and Nicholas Grafia (Düsseldorf)⁠ mailing their works via post, to include artists outside of the city. 
 
Post lockdowns, everybody is welcome to access THE FAIREST teasers and main fair at the same time for unframed vernissage programs! Teaser01 can be viewed in person via appointment (email urwelcome@the-fairest.com or via Blake & Vargas FB) and online via THE FAIREST website.
