Ceramic objects and figurines selected by Udo Kittelmann
About
Brutto Gusto is very pleased to announce the upcoming exhibition The fabulous world of Walter Bosse, alongside its selection of extraordinary flowers the shop is famous for. The works were selected and arranged by Udo Kittelmann, who has long been fascinated with the early colorful ceramic creations by Bosse.
Walter Bosse (1904 Vienna - 1979 Iserlohn) was an artist, designer and ceramicist whose oeuvre is represented internationally in numerous private and public collections. Well known for his popular brass figurine designs, it was in his early ceramic production where Bosse manifested the best of his iconic creativity and originality. On spotlight is a selection of rare ceramic figures, most of them created from 1924 to 1937, an era when he worked in Austria.
Udo Kittelmann is director of the Nationalgalerie Berlin (until October 31, 2020). He curated many exhibitions in Germany and abroad. Kittelmann is also author and editor of numerous books and other publications on Modern and Contemporary art.
