The objects we use everyday shape our experiences. John Allen’s work playfully challenges our preconceptions of furniture, sparking pleasure in the absurd and stimulating a more powerful relationship between user and object.
About
This furniture wants to be looked at, turned on, sat on and used. Through embracing reclaimed materials and rejecting mass production John’s work maintains an environmentally considerate approach and an escape to the unusual.Raised and living in Bristol, Luke Haslehurst’s abstract landscapes reflect the city around him. Luke’s imaginary cityscapes are created from memories, evoking emotions of pain, love and frustration. These works represent a history of adventure, struggle and joy; and ultimately learning to find a calmness within our own humanity. Interlocking geometric patterns and shapes over a base of buildings and structures we can see all is not simple but there is peace and beauty to be found within these lines.
Through their work John and Luke look to bridge the gap between the everyday and the unique.
