Learn how to print beautiful analogue colour photographs by hand in the darkroom at Nightlight Darkroom's new Salford studio.
Over two days, learn how to hand print c-type photographs using Nightlight Darkroom’s colour darkroom. Using colour enlargers and the RA4 process, participants will learn the basics of hand printing including: recognising colour casts, controlling colour and print finishing. Sessions are scheduled to suit those who book, so don’t worry if you haven’t had previous darkroom experience. All materials are provided, it’s also possible to bring and print your own negatives.
Nightlight Darkroom is a new facility at Artwork Atelier (Salford). Setup by artist Helen McGhie (MA RCA) in 2016, it holds 2x Durst and 1x DeVere enlargers for printing of 35mm/120/5×4 negatives, and access to both Black & White and Colour RA4 darkroom printing up to 20″ x 24″.
