The Channel is an installation that enables you to communicate across borders.

About

17 – 22 August 11.00am – 5.00pm (Daily artist workshop 12.30pm – 1.30pm)

The Channel is an installation that enables you to communicate across borders. For six days, people in Leicester will be able to connect with people indefinitely detained in UK immigration removal centres via the sculpture, which resembles an old fashioned phone box. You are invited to listen to messages from real people in these centres and join the conversation by adding your own voice to the artwork.

The workshops and meals offered in the space give us the chance to ask how we can break down borders together in our communities.

To launch and close the installation, Soft Touch Arts invites you to a shared meal to celebrate our desire to connect across borders in Leicester.

Launch Celebration: Saturday 17 August 11.00am – 2.30pm
