The Cass MA Show will take place in the Calcutta House Annex from 11 to 15 September, launching with a private view on 10 September from 6 to 8.30pm.

About

The exhibition will include projects by students on MFA, MA By projectMA DesignArchitecture MA and MA Design for Cultural Commons courses at the school. For the first time work by ten Cass artists in residence will also be displayed this year. Visitors can expect themes including sustainability and regeneration, craft, materials and making, and more from our lively interdisciplinary studios.

Exhibitors include Mari Moreno Mirallas and Ellie Boggans who study Interior Design MA and who were Highly Commended and Commended respectively in the annual RSA Student Design awards for their responses to the ‘Grand Stations Design’ brief.

The Artist in Residence scheme facilitated by Simone ten Hompel supports new graduates by allowing workshop access in exchange for knowledge sharing, technical expertise and creative input. Alongside use of the specialist facilities, residents act as role models whose life experiences prove to be invaluable in motivating and inspiring students. The exhibiting Artists-in-Residence are Callum Partridge, Isabelle Busnel, Jo Garner, Maarit Liukkonen, Maria Gower, Namma Haneman, Nora Loh, Rita Sarafian and Shannon Lees.

The MA Show, which is included in the 2019 London Design Festival, is the final exhibition in the School’s annual summer season of graduation work, which in 2019 has included the Theatre Arts ShowFashion SalonFoundation Exhibition and main Cass Summer Show.

Talking about the show, Head of Design Chris Emmett said "We are excited about the exhibition. Once again our students are presenting a range of innovative and socially engaged projects demonstrating a continued interest in pushing the boundaries of both discipline and material."
