About

LONDON FESTIVAL OF ARCHITECTURE // The Building Site // Sūpynės Fest

What is Sūpynės? Amazing verdant and lush woods with taintless lakes. Carefully handpicked talents coming from the local scene and abroad like DJ Stingray, The Empire Line, Silent Servant, Lake People and more. Interdisciplinary collaborations merging audio and visual performances as well as discussions on relevant present-day scene topics. "Be Safe Lab”, which provides information about safety, whether it is drugs, sex or alcohol. And music all around – from experimental, more obscure electronics to peak time house, techno and marathon long daydream dances for the strongest.

Tom Svtgl – a passionate music lover, record collector and a DJ. After quite a few years on dancefloors of Lithuania and around, he flirted with craft of a DJ here and there, but the real journey began in London after he had bought his first decks in 2011, which led to playing vinyl only since 2013. It’s a never-ending voyage through the underground sounds for Tom, be it via digging and listening or attending parties and festivals in London and the World, so it’s not easy to pinpoint his style – you can find anything from balearic and disco to most obscure electronica in his collection. On the dancefloor, though, you can normally expect a lot of energy, dirty raw house cuts, some acid and a drop of techno.

The Building Site is an urban intervention and design installation at the London Festival of Architecture. It questions the changing ownership of public space in London and invites to reflect on the impact of rapid urbanization on local communities and natural ecosystems. The installation occupies a significant piece of public space to create a new ‘building site’—a signature mark for London in transition. However, fenced off with construction site hoarding, The Building Site provides an unexpected forest-like experience inside.

We invite you to visit this hidden experimental garden in the heart of London and connect with the power of nature. Each weekend, The Building Site will host poetry readings, music performances, video screening, and debates. During these events, visitors will have a chance to explore the diverse and unique interpretations of human relation to nature.
