This event invites performance artists to present live works responding to the question: What is the responsibility of performance artists to genocide?
About
We invite performance artists to respond to the question:What is the responsibility of performance artists to genocide?
Everyone will respond differently; some may choose not to respond directly. This event explores how to be political without being moralistic or pointing fingers at those who do not specifically address the horrors happening in Gaza, Sudan, or other places where genocide is ongoing or repeated.
Activity Description: Participants will perform live for 15–20 minutes each within a two-hour program.
Performances are encouraged to be low-tech and direct—minimal or no technical equipment will be provided. We provide the space and event documentation but cannot offer artist fees or travel support.
Venue: House of Annetta is a space dedicated to learning about land, ownership, and collective care. It was the home of artist and activist Annetta Pedretti (1980–2018), and continues her legacy through self-organised education and solo or community projects.
How to Apply: Send a short proposal (max 300 words), a bio, and any relevant links (website, video, etc.) to ilovelaper@gmail.com by 25 July 2025.
