The Battle of the Cartoonists: teams of top cartoonists from The Guardian, The Independent, Private Eye and the Professional Cartoonists Organisation cross pens to create huge satirical banners recording Britain now, with the winning banner chosen by popular vote.

About

The Battle will rage against a background of banners from the past decade’s confrontations, offering incisive commentary on early 21st century politics and society.

Between 12-1pm, a tour of Trinity Buoy Wharf will be led by John Burton from Urban Space Management.

2pm: Sir John Sorrell, publisher of the one-time broadsheet, The Cartoonist, and life-long cartoon and drawing aficionado, will fire the starting gun and talk about the importance of visual satire.

Free workshops for aspiring cartoonists of all ages will be taking place during the afternoon.
