A screening of the iconic sixties drama Up The Junction, based on the book by Nell Dunn, who will be speaking after the film about the making of the movie.
About
Based on the book by Nell Dunn and directed by Ken Loach, Up The Junction was a controversial and mould-breaking TV drama about the lives and loves of three working class women set in the pubs, terraced houses and factories of Battersea.
A record 400 viewers complained to the BBC, mostly about the programme's bad language and depiction of sexual promiscuity. At the time, Up the Junction's depiction of abortion had a major impact, contributing to the national debate which led to the legalisation of abortion in 1967.
After the screening Nell Dun will be speaking about the making of the film.
