About 200 artworks created during lockdown by people of different backgrounds, from full-time artists to newcomers, of all ages (six to 76 years old), organised and curated by artist Rod Kitson.
About
Around 100 artists are represented showing work from fine art through to DIY projects, such as drawing, painting, work from virtual art classes held online, sculpture, knitting, printing, film, patches on a pair of jeans, and a broken sledge hammer.
Exhibits include 30 pieces by refugee artists from New Art Studio in Islington, north London. All the work is for sale and there is an online catalogue with descriptions from the artists.
The work has been hanged like the Royal Academy’s Summer Exhibition, with everything very close together. Said Rod: “I wanted it to be like a symbolic antidote to social distancing, where the work can be shoulder to shoulder, even if we can’t be.”
