The Apartment is a pop-up exhibition in my home inspired by Hans Ulrich Obrist’s first exhibition, The Kitchen. The invited artists are 'dinner guests' of this computational dinner party, each bringing their work as a new experience to the space.
About
Artists are friends and friends of friends who studied together in the Goldsmiths Computational Arts MA/MFA and are presenting works that blend in with the home and engage with computation as a medium.
The show is motivated by my constant desire to subvert the floorplan of my purpose-built white-box apartment which seems to dictate how I use the space.
Intrigued by the dialogue opened by the juxtaposition of art with space as well as the creation of experiences in an unexpected, non-traditional gallery space, I am using the occasion of my birthday to put on this show. Visitors can expect to interact with playful installations and perhaps refresh perspectives around routines and private moments at home.
