Running concurrent with the British Museum touring exhibition Ancient Iraq new discoveries, Nottingham based artist Paul Matosic explores the ruins of the legendary ancient city of Phibonak.
About
Many of the images or artefacts display elements of this City's creative culture. Their authenticity cannot be verified. Some of these artefacts are reproductions based on the fragments of restored reconstructions. The original object(s) were, in many cases, too fragile to be shown and despite extensive restoration remain in a delicate state.
This exhibition, entitled "The Ancient City of Phibonak" is shown in conjunction with objects from the British Museum. The Artist Paul Matosic carefully copied many of these renovated restorations in order to show for the first time an array of such objects.
