About

The Alternative Village Fete: White Night Festival, Brighton Saturday 29th October, 6pm-1am, Old Steine Gardens, Brighton, East Sussex BN1 1EL. FREE. As a part of the acclaimed Alternative Village Fete Tour this Autumn, visiting The National Theatre Watch this Space Festival and Tattershall Castle Lincolnshire we are delighted to present the Fete in Brighton City Centre. The event forms part of the renowned city-wide, all-night White Night festival, themed around Utopias. A night time setting for the Alternative Village Fete gives license to delve into the darker side of folk, so you'll find everything you'd expect at a fete but with a nocturnal edge...Engaging the most exciting artists and creatives from the city and beyond, visitors to the stage and stalls will encounter experiences that take them from deco tea rooms, swing dancing and vintage glamour makeovers to pop video routines, food flinging olympics, dark midnight rituals and everything in between! Expects ghouls, vamps, kitsch popstars, rocka-hillbillies, retro hepkats and kittens. Visitors are invited to express their twilight egos and dress up for the occasion... Come out and play! Artists include: Cut a Shine Collective, Tom Marshman, 815Agency, Ragroof Theatre, Victoria Melody, The Basement, Boogaloo Stu, Lone Twin, Copperdollar, Made in China, Brighton Belles WI, Anna Hunt, LiveLoveHoop, Fitch Bitch Bootcamp, Snoopers Attic, Candy Queens, Infinity Foods Retail, Chilli Pepper Pete, Community Chef, Metrodeco, Raw Living, Tanya Gangar, The Brighton Science Festival, The Forest of Thoughts, Baby Warhol, Dolly Dagger, Lou McCurdy and more... hosted by MC Paul L Martin. With special thanks to: Infinity Foods Wholesale, Shabitat, Fishtail Neon, Same Sky, Montezumas Stanford Junior School for their support for the project. Supported by: Arts Council England, The National Trust, Lambeth Council, White Night, Brighton & Hove Council, Igniting Ambition in the East Midlands, The Capital Community Fund, Lincolnshire Council, The Basement, National Theatre, Cowling and Wilcox For press enquiries please contact Anna Goodman at Abstrakt Publicity on 0207 834 0440 / 07976 247 026 or mail abstrakt@abstraktpublicity.co.uk
