Thames Run: Source to Sea is a multi-media exhibition of a live art-work first performed as part of the Estuary Festival from 31st May-13th June 2021
About
On the 31st May 2021, as we were emerging from the 3rd National Lockdown of the Covid-19 Pandemic, the artist began a run following the path of the river Thames from its source in Kemble, Gloucestershire and continued for 14 consecutive days to the mouth of the sea at the Isle of Grain in Kent. Audiences tracked her movements live online, using GPS tracking, live streaming and social media.
For this exhibition the artist has transformed the previously live-streamed work into a multi-media installation and exhibition, encompassing drawing, print photography, video and sound emphasising the mediated and reproductive nature of the work.
This project is generously supported by Anglia Ruskin University and is part of Totally thames 2022, inpartnershiop with the Thamnes Festival Trust.
