About
Solveig Settemsdal creates ephemeral forms that imagine the process of cognition, which she then investigates through photography and installation.

Solveig Settemsdal
Solveig Settemsdal is a Norwegian artist who lives and works in Bristol. She has been a Spike Island studio holder since 2013.
Since graduating from the Glasgow School of Art in 2010 she has worked with drawing, sculpture and photography.
Her current practice combines these in a method of sculptural drawing. She uses a process of injecting ink into gelatine, representing links between the physical and imaginary aspects of the process of thought.
