The Calligraphy of Dance
About
An exhibition of photographs inspired by the Montagu Music Collection at Boughton House.
Asked to create new works which would express aspects of the collection in visual terms, Tessa Traeger focussed on two books of choreography published in the early part of the 18th Century which recorded dance using a calligraphic system. Tessa Traeger has combined this calligraphy with details she discovered amongst the many family portraits hanging at Boughton House.
