About
Presenting the acclaimed British painter’s first solo show in New York, The Light Surrounded reflects Tess Jaray’s quest to distill her compositions to a degree of minimalist purity. Through use of intense color and manipulation of perspective, she creates forms that appear to hover in a flux between foreground and background to create what the artist describes as “no space between the image and myself”, working in a similar style to her peer Bridget Riley.
