About

Press Release:

Tempting Fake brings together eight recent graduates who respond to everyday and virtual territories, recalling the forgotten and forgettable and memorialising the unmemorable. Acutely aware of what’s come before, their works begin to question what's around us, their state destabilised, not what they’re supposed to be; they are prototypes in a process of completion.

All graduates of University of Arts London, Nathaniel Faulkner, Sarah Finney, Tom Ribot, Kelly Randall, Realf Heygate, Fenella Brereton, Mimi Hope and Fred Le Sueur make, edit, assemble and even take to produce works which begin to disconnect preconceived notions of function and purpose.

Tempting Fake has been curated specifically for this space, in a condemned former distillery and printworks, and the artists are plainly alert to the impending swing of the wrecking ball.
