Held across the Peckham Safehouse 1&2: 137 Copeland Road, and 139 Copeland Road, London SE15 3SN. A collaboration between London and Beijing based artists through Art Connected, the exhibition will be a coming together of artworks that goes beyond a single space. The exhibition will be held over four days 21st - 24th October with a private view on Saturday Evening.
The exhibition will consist of 34 artists whose practices encompass a variety of mediums all using the sensory to provoke memory from their audience, thereby producing an immersive space. Through using the sensory, the artists have explored their environments' creating reactions through art, and the exhibition provides a framework, producing a playful environment that asks people to interact with all their senses, stimulating familiarity otherwise known as sensory memory.
Through using a non-orthodox space to evoke a multisensory response, drawing a deeper connection between the artist and the public through non-verbal communication. This is where the name 'Temporal Collision' arises from Connecting the sensory response to re-experiencing (Déjà vu) stored memories to the artistic collision, where artists express their ideas, and responses to their worlds through aesthetics. Through working with these artists and international educational institutes, we have provided a platform for these 'Temporal Collisions', the joining of two perspectives using sensory recall on a global scale.
